Since 1945, we’ve been working hard to earn your trust and respect. But don’t take our word for it – here’s what some of our wonderful customers have said:
“Wanted to let you know that the men did a beautiful job in setting up the French drain. It worked perfectly during the past rain. We appreciate the prompt and courteous service that not only you but your crew showed while doing the job.“

“We would like to take this opportunity to let you know how pleased we have been with the work Harper’s has done for us. We want to thank Harper’s…and especially Justin and Jason and the crew. They represent your organization in the best possible way.”

“Dear Harper Boys,
On Oct. 22 we had one of our ailing trees replaced by your guys. I wanted to tell you what an awesome job they did. They took out the old tree and replaced it without disturbing any other plants around it. We had moved the drip system out to accommodate the old tree as it grew. They moved it back to accommodate the baby tree. They put all the gravel back and raked it nicely. They picked up every branch that came off the old tree. When they were done, you couldn’t even tell they had been there. They even answered questions about trees for neighbors who happened to be walking by.
Thank you! It has been a pleasure to recommend you (and Justin, your landscaping designer) to others and we look forward to doing business with you again in the spring when we tackle the backyard.”

I would like to express my thanks and appreciation for the quality landscaping service my family received from Harper’s Nursery. I was initially directed to Mark, who drew up a landscape design for my property. The next phase of implementation involved Jason, the foreman and his crew, installing the sprinklers, lights and plants. This job also involved clean up and removal. Each person I have worked with in connection with your company has been professional. I feel as though they listened to me and made my ideas for home improvement come to life in a manner which was even better than I anticipated. I am very happy with the results. Thank you.
On a side note, I also appreciate Harper’s Nursery’s support of our community. Several years ago I brought a kindergarten class to your business on a field trip. You opened your business and gave the children a tour of the operation at no cost. It was an inexpensive method for me to expose the students to the foundations of biology. Your beautiful nursery is always a pleasure to visit. Thank you for sharing it with the students.
I recently had a desire to have professional lighting added to my home’s landscaping. Because of your long standing name and reputation in our community, I chose Harper’s to come out and give me a bid. I was so pleased with the suggestions and advice that Rose imparted in our initial meeting. She suggested that we use Unique lights, and several different styles and lenses in their assortment, to create the sophisticated and dramatic effect that I was wanting. I was truly surprised by the difference some of the different lenses made to the total look of an area. The total package is far superior to anything else in our neighborhood, and the fixtures in and of themselves speak to the professional appeal that one would expect from Harper’s.
Also, the installation crew was very knowledgeable and dedicated to making sure that I would be pleased with the installation of each and every light. They took the time to properly run a section of wire in a problematic area. I am so glad that they discussed the different option available, and how for the final look, the procedure that was done was the professional route to take.
Roase has come to assist me with a couple of additional requests and to ensure that the job was complete and to my satisfaction. You are fortunate to have an employee with her commitment and professionalism. Because of the manner in which my job was handled and due to the dramatic sophisticated look that was achieved, I have suggested your company to a friend.
Thank you for allowing Rose and her team to create the lighting that I am proud to say is by Harper’s.
Maybe it’s because I spent several summers of adolescent life landscaping around southeastern Wisconsin, or maybe it’s because I spent just as much time in trees growing up as I did on the ground, but for whatever reason, some of the first establishments I tend to explore when visiting or moving to a new place are the local nurseries. From the very first day I arrived in Arizona, meandering down Hayden Road with nothing but a street number to a place of residence in my hand, Harper’s Nursery caught my eye, however it would be several weeks until I would poke my head inside. When I did, though, was I ever surprised – and impressed!
One thing I’ve learned about xeriscape (the term for landscaping and gardening in ways that reduce or eliminate the need for supplemental irrigation) is that it isn’t easy – but it isn’t impossible either – and Harper’s is the place to go to learn how. Not only have they been around longer than any other nursery in the valley, they grow their own trees and plants right here in the valley which for anyone that knows anything about planting, makes all the difference in the world for the survival of a desert shrub or tree. Their stock is acclimated to the desert climate, which you won’t find at your Home Depot or Lowes, which allows for a much better survival rate once you put your acquisitions in the ground.
Their associates are absolute experts, there’s a coffee shop on site, and the nursery itself is part educational display, part botanical garden, part English Breakfast nook, and part inspirational oasis. Their landscape stock is some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen in a nursery, and I guarantee you’ll spend at least an hour, if not longer, learning about how far you can stretch a few $100 bills during your first visit. They frequently have unadvertised sales. They do offer reasonably priced delivery services as well as installation service for those who don’t want to get their hands dirty, too.
Just a note: if you do buy something, make sure to buy a soil test kit and some soil preparation/ fertilizers. Ask a few questions too. They make things easy to understand, and you’ll find yourself empowered to keep your purchases alive and well for many years, if not decades to come.
